Financial Aid
As a non-profit educational institution which is committed to serving the community, SFIS does its best to offer financial assistance to families in need. The financial aid need assessment is performed by a 3rd party company (Basic Fund).
New Applications
- Current SFIS Families: All current families are required to reapply every year. The deadline for this year’s submission is Friday, March 29, 2024.
- New Families: All new accepted families are encouraged to submit their online application as soon as possible to be prioritized for available funds.
- Most recent pay stubs
- Previous year W-2 forms for all jobs.
- Previous year filed a tax return: 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ with all schedules.
- Previous year filed a business tax return: 1120, the 1120s, 1065 (if applicable).
- Supplemental income documentation: Social Security income, Welfare, Food Stamps, Child Support, 1099-M Forms, Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment, Veterans Benefits, Housing Allowance, etc.
The BASIC Fund new application for the 2024-2025 School Year is now available on www.basicfund.org. Families can submit their 2022 Tax Return along with their application, but we highly encourage families to submit their 2023 Tax Return as they won’t be required to update on next year’s renewal application. Current BASIC Fund families wanting to apply for a new sibling must fill out a new application through the Existing Family Application page on our website, https://basicfund.org/existing-family-application/.
Families will need to input their email and BASIC Fund family account number (a separate email has been sent to families with their family account) to access their application. If the family does not know their BASIC Fund family account number, they need to follow the instructions noted to have their account number emailed to them. The New Application deadline is March 29, 2024.
Note: Financial aid is awarded based on need and submitting an application does not guarantee financial assistance by SFIS. .
